Yep, I saw this menu order terminal in a Japanese restaurant. I thought it is a good system. I did not have to call a waiter/waitress every time making orders.
Exactly, and the restaurant can save labor cost. Change of menu (lunch time/dinner time, seasonal specialty) can be easily reflected on these terminals. Some menu order terminals are even more useful that it can display multiple languages, and customers easily switch language to the one they can read.
