Many POS terminals used in supermarkets and store cash registers are equipped with touchscreens, and accounting and sales information is immediately transmitted to the host computer. Self-checkout systems in which the customer directly operates the cash register are also on the rise.

For high-end applications in self-checkout, we recommend projected capacitance, which has a clean screen and can be designed to be flat by adding a cover glass.
